Symposium on Examining the Doctorate
26-27 October 2021

On 26th and 27th October, 2021, the ICCSDE held its inaugural event – an international symposium on Examining the Doctorate. The symposium was based on two projects – one led by Michael Byram and Maria Stoicheva, on the experience of examining a PhD, and the other by Vijay Kumar, Stan Taylor and Sharon Sharmini, on the practice of doctoral examination across the globe. You can read more about these projects here.

There were presentations from researchers based in fifteen countries, with representatives from many others attending the symposium over the course of the two days.

A Sway was created, compiling the content from the presentations at the symposium. The Sway can be accessed by clicking this link.
